All good things. must come to an end.
Owner, Katie Hildman has made a very difficult decision to sell; the business and property. She has given it her heart and soul for seven years. All the work (blood, sweat & tears) has taken it's toll on her body and now it's time to say goodbye.
good things. is a great store, hopefully the right buyer will come along and keep it going or recreate a business with just as much passion.
Thank you to all who has helped out, we appreciate all your hard work...
Karen, Annie, Kimmy, Sara, Sue, Ann, Dolly, Clare, Kellie and so many more!
good things. continues to carry unique items; we are in business as usual.
2011
It's been a good start to the year. March has been busy with our spring open house and followed by the UNI-Dome Antique Show. We said 'Goodbye' to Dolly and 'Hello' to Clare.
2010
In February the American Heart Association held it's anual Go Red for Women event at the Five Sullivan Brothers Convention Center. In support of this event good things., along with other vendors, set up shop in the afternoon for the Heart's D'Lite portion. Women who attended the luncheon were able to have fun looking around and doing a little shopping at the various booths.
We welcomed new staff members Ann, Dolly and our newest team member...
Baylor Elizabeth was born on Aug. 4th
7lbs and 21 inches long.
2009
We returned from the Minneapolis Market with tons of new, fun merchandise. We had our spring open house March 12th, 13th, and 14th. In May we joined other vendors at Classic Kitchen & Bath (down town Waterloo) for a girls night out. This was a great opportunity for us to set up and sell our merchandise, but more importantly to meet new people and potential customers. :)
In July good things. had an anniversary open house for 5 years in biz.!
2008 was an eventful year at...
We wished farewell to once co-owner, Paula Strom, who along side Katie Hildman opened good things. in July of 2004. I, Lindsay Hildman, took over as co-owner in March of 2008. In April was the anual Women's Event held at Pipac where we displayed and sold items from our store. The spring flea market was in May and was a great success. And as the saying goes; out with the old, in with the new- so we headed to Chicago mid July for The Chicago Market - 'Living and Giving' to purchase new inventory. In November we had the honor to decorate a tree sponsored by Black Hawk Hotel for Sartori Memorial Hospital Auxiliary's 20th anual festival of trees. Our theme was nostalgic. We used authentic, antique ornaments and postcards. From the vintage linen used as the tree skirt to the beautiful antique angel tree topper. Other events include the fall flea market, holiday open house and a girls' night out. We would like to thank everyone who has been apart of making 2008 great!
